Description

Family run country inn close to the Shropshire Way in superb walking country. Real ales, bar snacks, restaurant, freshly prepared meals using local produce.

The Inn on the Green lies in the Onny valley nestling between the Longmynd Hills to the east and the Stiperstones to the West.It is just six miles from the market town of Bishops Castle and 20 minutes drive from the County town of Shrewsbury.

Purchased by the Semple Family in October 2005, it has undergone extensive renovation. It now has a comfortable homely family atmosphere in the lounge and dining room, which are non smoking. The dining room can seat 52 for a formal dinner and 80 at informal parties.

Outside there is a patio / beer garden and ample car parking.

THE BAR

RESTAURANT
·  There is an extensive menu of restaurant and bar snack meals
·  Meat and produce sourced locally whenever possible

·  Sunday lunch is a carvery, a choice of two roasts and a vegetarian option.
·  If you have a sweet tooth come and see our selection of home made puddings
·  Always a selection of vegetarian options and a fish dish
·  Our chef is happy to provide for other dietary options with prior notice

DISABLED FACILITIES
All the public rooms are on one level and a disabled toilet is provided

CHILDREN
We welcome well behaved children, a children’s menu is offered and a high chair is available

ACCOMMODATION
·  Four double/twin rooms, all en-suite are available
·  Television, tea/coffee facilities and hair driers are provided
·  Provision can be made for small children in parents room.

WALKING & CYCLING HOLIDAYS
The Inn on the Green is ideally placed for walking and cycling holidays.
·  paths lead directly from the Inn to the Jack Mytton Way on the Longmynd and the Shropshire Way leading to the Stiperstones and the Devil’s Chair.
·  We can assist in organising transport for “one-way” walks
·  Drying facilities are available
·  Packed lunches can be provided.
·  Luggage forwarding service
·  Several circular walks are available from here
·  Secure cycle storage

Strettons many cafes.
·  Ironbridge, a World Heritage site museum, the birthplace of industry is an easy drive
·  Shrewsbury, historic county town is only 20 minutes drive
·  The Welsh border is only 5miles, Snowdonia and the North Wales coast beckon.

Directions

From Shrewsbury take A488 (Bishops Castle). In Lydham village, take the left fork on the A489 towards Craven Arms. Take the next left (Wentnor) and the Inn on the Green is 3 miles on the left after crossing a small bridge with white railings. From Craven Arms take the A489 (Welshpool). After 6 miles Look for the B4383 left turn to Bishops Castle, take the next right after this road, signed Wentnor The Inn on the Green is on the left after crossing a bridge with white railings.
