If this is the first year of entry, classification may be pending. Hotels are rated 1 - 5 stars. the more stars, the higher the quality, range of facilities and level of service. Guest Accommodation - B&Bs, Farmhouse B&Bs, Guest houses and Inns are rated from 1 - 5 diamonds. the more diamonds, the higher the quality of service and hospitality, bedrooms, bathrooms and food. In addition, look out for extra quality red diamonds or gold/silver awards given by Visit Britain and the AA.

Self Catering is rated from 1 - 5 stars. The more stars, the higher the quality and the greater the range of facilities and equipment. Some establishments have been inspected by the Wales Tourist Board (WTB) or Rural Retreats with a similar emphasis on quality.
